Finance Officer (Xero)


About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Officer (Xero) to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services from both international and domestic suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a "clean" ledger by performing daily bank reconciliations and ensuring all transactions are coded to the correct Chart of Accounts.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) cycles, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and prompt collection from customers.
  • Process payroll for all staff members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly BAS (Business Activity Statement) and other statutory reports to the ATO (Australian Taxation Office).
  • Generate monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements, for management review.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Monitor and manage company cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in finance and accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with Xero and other accounting software.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
